Level Five Summer Project

Once again it is September, which more importantly means that it is time to get back into the swing of textiles- now in second year. This is going to be a very exciting (and important) year- so I know that I really need to step up my game work-wise.

Over summer we were asked to do a two part project- firstly, a sketchbook showing my interests of medias/ materials in the textiles world, and second, a file of work showing designers/ artists that are currently in the art and design world that I can both relate to, and be inspired by.

Below is a selection of pages from my summer sketchbook. I feel that these pieces show my ideal medias/ materials in my own practice. I am very much interested in colour palettes and embellishment. I also enjoyed exploring the world of paints- something that through-out my earlier art years I always detested. My work focuses on the idyllic scenery around Cornwall, particularly the seaside.
